Cadillac CT4 and CT5: The Die Is Cast

2025-10-22

We now know what will happen to the Cadillac CT4 and CT5 sedans. Until recently, it was unclear whether they would share the same fate as other cars in the General Motors family. Numerous rumors had been circulating online, but Cadillac has now confirmed that both sedans will return to the market for 2026.

Unfortunately, the celebration will be short-lived for one of them, as the CT4 will be discontinued after 2026. As for the CT5, it will continue on, with a new generation expected in the near future.

When It’s Time to Choose

Replacing the ATS, the Cadillac CT4 arrived on the market in 2019, carrying the torch for Cadillac’s subcompact sedans. Sadly, the brand’s greatest success has always revolved around larger, more luxurious cars—and that, in my opinion, explains why the CT4’s days are numbered.

The CT5, on the other hand, is enjoying strong momentum. Cadillac’s compact sedan is highly regarded, from its base model all the way up to its top performance version. Speaking of which, that ultimate variant is a true enthusiast’s car—powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 paired with a manual transmission. The CT5 proudly upholds Cadillac’s legacy of sporty luxury sedans, which is precisely why a new generation is on the horizon.

Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but it’s widely believed that the next-generation CT5 will debut for the 2027 model year. It’s also expected to retain a gasoline powertrain, something that will no doubt please fans of the model.
